Summer Recreation
Escape the valley heat and join us at Bogus Basin for mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, picnics and more during the summer months. Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area offers free public trail systems in a pristine alpine environment, within easy driving distance for a family day trip.

Barbecue and beverages
The patio and lawn in front of JR Simplot Lodge (at the ski area entrance) are open
on weekends from 9:00am - to 3:00pm for the general public starting Saturday, August 16th through the end of summer. Enjoy a "day-cation" in the mountains and join us for lunch (barbecue hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs; candy bars; chips; Gatorade; bottled water; bottled beer). Restroom facilities at JR Simplot Lodge are also open on weekends.
Reunions, Retreats and Receptions
Private group events are welcome at Bogus Basin during the summer. Details about lodge rental rates, catering and guidelines can be found on this website under
"Weddings and Groups". Please contact our
Food and Beverage Department to reserve one of our lodges for a private group event or meeting June-October.
